Our dried products are available in convenient 1oz retail packs and also in bulk quantities. Wild mushrooms are harvested seasonally for a limited time each year. At ForestUSA, we reserve a portion of these mushrooms for our dried product line to meet our requirements.. Our slow-dry process preserves the natural flavour and aroma of these mushrooms. One pound of dried mushrooms is equivalent to 8-10 pounds of fresh depending on the variety.
- Dried mushrooms can be reconstituted by soaking in hot water (lightly salted or sugared water) or a chicken broth
or a wine and water mix for 20 minutes.
- Rinse mushrooms thoroughly under cold water.
- Dried mushrooms can be used just as fresh mushrooms.
- They are ideal for use in soups and sauces.
- When reconstituting the dried mushrooms, strain & reserve the liquid for use in risottos, soups and sauces.
- Dried mushrooms should be kept in a cool, dry place and can be stored in a freezer for extended shelf life.
