How could these products help us add value to our forestland? Even with little active management,  NTFPs industries have been growing rapidly since the mid-1980s and contribute billions of dollars to the U.S. economy each year.  By managing our forestland so that NTFP diversity is allowed to flourish, we can potentially increase the long-term value of our forests while simultaneously playing an important role in biodiversity conservation and sustainable forest management.
